At Last

What an absolutely great weekend! I finally got some surfing in! I went both Saturday and Sunday and am now very sore. On Saturday I met up with Alison in the morning and we got into the water about 10am. My plan was to be able to surf until Hannah arrived around 11:30am, however, being that it had been a few weeks, and before that, month, that I had surfed, I pooped out pretty quickly. A great time was had by us both though. Alison had seen me take my first ride and later told me I was smiling the whole time. Damn that was a great left! We got out around 11:30am and walked by the lot to see if Hannah had arrived. "You're just getting out?" Hannah said with a disappointed tone. That's all it took for me to get back into the water with her and surf a few more waves. I'm such a sucker! Anyway, I was beat and didn't think I could paddle back out for another, so Hannah and I made plans to surf the next day. I went back to Alison's house as she was giving herself a pedicure. I got changed and we went to the Pink Godzilla for some sushi and sake. We later caught the last of the Big Stick Log Jam, which was a surf contest that involved old longboards and no leashes, lots of hanging 5 and 10 going on. What a great day!

So today, it was looking pretty flat. Hannah and I decided, if anything, we would go for a paddle to stretch out our aching surfing muscles. Well, there were some fun sets that rolled through and we did catch a few waves here and there. We had lots of conversation in between and it was so reminiscent of those wonderful fall luna run sessions. We ended our session with a paddle around one of the buoys, as we had intended to do in the first place. I think we reached rockstar status this weekend.

Just wonderful to be surfing and to be with my lovely friends again.

The above image I took of the logs and the jam (the guy hangin'5 in the background).

Dissappearing and reappearing... here I am :) Even though my classes have been really taking a lot out of me, am thoroughly enjoying them. I absolutely love my Stats course! What a surprise! I had no idea what to expect, but what I am getting is great! I also have a once a week Critical Thinking course and the teacher is quite pretty. I don't mind sitting in there for 5 hours on a Friday. It beats being at work.

So I have been getting in the water...the pool that is, twice a week! I will be surfing this weekend as well. It's been sunny for the most part, so cross your fingers for me that it will stay that way!

Thank you my lovely ladies Miz B. , Coop, and Shayna, for reminding me about the RILF list... you are all still on my mine as it stands :) Gotta go study so I can play this weekend!

April Showers

What a week! It has still been raining, but that really doesn't matter a whole lot since I've been sick most of the week with some sort of sinus thing. I felt like I went a round with Mike Tyson yesterday and was sore all over. Today I feel sooooooo much better! I also started school again with a Statistics class and Critical Thinking writing course. I've also added lap swimming to the schedule and now find myself one unit away from having a full time student status. So when do I surf?? Good question. If I am feeling better tomorrow morning, I will head over and get in the water. That's what it's looking like: early morning sessions before work and on the weekends. Well, I've got homework to start on so I can play tomorrow... hope to get a look at my blogger bud's entry's and rants very soon! Take care and write soon!

Been Awhile

Whew... no school for the week, it is officially Spring Break for me! I have been seriously neglecting this blog space. I feel bad, because usually I keep reference to my days through my blog. It has been a pretty eventful these last few weeks, with my finals being over, spring arriving, some of my friendships tightening, and surfing of course.

It's still raining here in the Bay Area and looks like it will continue through the week and weekend. Major bummer. Ah well. My folks are in town until Wednesday. They came for my cousin's grand wedding last Saturday. We had a great time and it was good seeing everyone in such a joyous occasion.

Well I am going to try and enjoy this wet week and attempt to get into the water when there is a break in the rain. I want to get back into doing longboarding tricks like hanging 5 and 10. It's been awhile since I've attempted such things, but its a good time to start again.
